Today I have a short Q&A with Rachelle Dekker about her second book. The Calling. This is a sequel to The Choosing that came out last year. I didn’t read The Choosing until earlier this year and I loved it. Rachelle has a talent in storytelling, tension building and pulling the reader into the story to care about the characters.
Unfortunately I am still working on The Calling. Work and life got a bit in the way so I am a bit behind. I can tell you that so far I am really enjoying it. A second book in a series or trilogy can be tricky. Sometimes you read it and feel like they are simply trying to get to the next book. So far The Calling isn’t following that. The tension that was in The Choosing is here too to move the story along. I am still caring about the characters. I ended the first chapter and felt heartbroken. I have a new character that like in the first book I want help the others to take down.
