Armchair BEA Introduction

What is the name you prefer to use? April

Have you participated in ABEA before? I haven’t. Once I learned about it a year a two ago I was actually a little nervous to sign up.

What is your favorite genre and why? I usually go for fantasy, thrillers. I like books that have adventure and move fast with a little bit off romance.

26721568Do you have a favorite book? Favorite book AT THE MOMENT…..a book that I read recently, The Problem with Forever by Jennifer L. Armentrout. So many feels!

If you could create a playlist that reflects your bookshelf, what would be the first song you choose? When I look over at my shelves Blue October comes to mind.

If you could choose three characters to have lunch with, who would they be and why? One would be Carrington from The Choosing and The Calling by Rachelle Dekker. Carrington has a lot of heart. Two, because this series got me back into enjoying reading I would say Edward from Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. I’ve always been a fan of vampires and the “dark side”. Third, Daemon, from LUX series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. He is a hot alien that is protective. What isn’t there to like?

The Calling Tour

Today I have a short Q&A with Rachelle Dekker about her second book. The Calling. This is a sequel to The Choosing that came out last year. I didn’t read The Choosing until earlier this year and I loved it. Rachelle has a talent in storytelling, tension building and pulling the reader into the story to care about the characters.

Unfortunately I am still working on The Calling. Work and life got a bit in the way so I am a bit behind. I can tell you that so far I am really enjoying it. A second book in a series or trilogy can be tricky. Sometimes you read it and feel like they are simply trying to get to the next book. So far The Calling isn’t following that. The tension that was in The Choosing is here too to move the story along. I am still caring about the characters. I ended the first chapter and felt heartbroken. I have a new character that like in the first book I want help the others to take down.
